Abstract

Children's education has a central role in shaping individual character and developing human potential. Apart from academic education, education also has moral and ethical aspects that guide individual behavior. In the midst of an increasingly complex world, religious values are often considered a strong moral pillar. This research aims to explore the relevance of religious values to children's education in the modern era. This research uses a library research method to investigate the role of religious values in shaping children's character. We identified that religious values remain of significant relevance to children's character development. In an increasingly secular and pluralistic era, religious values can help children understand ethics, goodness, and justice. The results of this research indicate that the integrity of religious values in children's educational practices can make a positive contribution to shaping children's character. Although there are challenges in integrating religious values, collaboration between educators, parents, and communities can promote interfaith understanding. In addition, respecting cultural and religious diversity and developing a strong religious identity can be an opportunity in children's education based on religious values. In conclusion, children's education based on religious values remains relevant and beneficial to the development of children's character. A wise and inclusive approach in integrating religious values can maximize the benefits of this education in facing moral challenges in the modern era
