Abstract

Islamic religious education in elementary schools faces complex challenges in teaching relevant religious values and building a correct understanding of Islam. In facing the modern era with easily accessible information and strong global cultural influences, Islamic religious education strategies in primary schools need to be implemented wisely. The challenges faced include the influence of modern culture and technology, irrelevant curricula, varying understanding of parents, and varying quality of teachers. To overcome this challenge, an effective strategy must be implemented. Some of the strategies that can be used include updating the curriculum that is relevant to the context of students' lives, teaching methods that are interactive and interesting, close collaboration with the community, improving teacher quality through training and professional development, using technology in learning, and continuous evaluation for program improvements and adjustments Islamic education. Through the right strategy, Islamic religious education in elementary schools can be an effective means of shaping students' character and morals, as well as helping them face the challenges of the modern world. It is important to maintain inclusivity, tolerance and respect for differences in Islamic religious education, so that students can gain a correct understanding of Islam and develop mutual respect in religious life.
