Abstract

 

Abstrak : This research explores the development of a curriculum based on local wisdom in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to enhance students' understanding of multiculturalism. With the increasing diversity in society, promoting multicultural understanding and tolerance has become crucial in educational settings. This study aims to develop a curriculum for PAI that integrates local wisdom and cultural elements to foster a deeper appreciation of different cultures among students. A mixed-method approach is utilized, involving qualitative data through interviews and focus group discussions with educators and stakeholders, as well as quantitative data from pre- and post-assessments to measure the impact on students' multicultural awareness. The findings provide insights into the effectiveness of the locally informed PAI curriculum in enhancing students' understanding of multiculturalism and promoting harmonious coexistence in diverse communities.
